Saving time is invaluable
Last week, I learned the unmatched value of hiring a professional to provide a service that would simply have taken me too much time.
New non-profit rates
Research Works is now offering non-profit organizations with proof of 501(c)(3) incorporation status a 15% discount off of the hourly base rate for most services. Invoices will show the regular base rate, payment from the organization, and a line for “In Kind Services” for the remaining balance.
Is good business possible with bad pricing?
A recent customer’s surprise at the total on his invoice prompted me to ask other people in my industry who work with my direct competitors how much my direct competitors were charging for their services. Wait a minute … 101? Why I’m taking a class about stuff I already know
I’m a social media addict. My LinkedIn profile says so. Facebook and Twitter updates come to my phone. I built my own websites based on blog templates. I operate two blogs. I’ve integrated RSS feeds and links to my social media pages into them. Visitors have found my blog through Google searches on the topics I write about, by playing around on Twitter, or by clicking on a link they found about me on another blog. Yet, I recently began taking a continuing adult education course called Internet Marketing 101.
My eagle eye for grammar spotted
I claim to be a “stickler for grammar,” and I hope you believe me, but it’s hard to prove when you see the error-free final product, not the proofreader’s or editor’s marks. Well today I present evidence to support my claim. In a recent e-newsletter, grammar expert Karen Reddick, “The Red Pen Editor,” recognized me for a question I sent to her after I spotted some questionable grammar in a newspaper article.
